Rab seizes drug making machines, 5,100 capsules

Rab yesterday seized over 5,100 'Dupper' capsules, an alternative drug to Yaba, and eight Dupper-making machines from a house in the capital's Khilgaon area. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-2 raided the house at East Rampura in the city's Khilgaon in the afternoon and seized the drugs and machines, said a Rab official. They also arrested Rashed Mostafiz in this connection. Although officials of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) had been receiving information for the last few months that Dupper is being used as an alternative drug to Yaba after massive crackdown on dealers and peddlers of Yaba about a year back, this is the first ever seizure of Dupper, said DNC sources. The arrestee said he along with his associates has been selling the drugs for the last one year in the capital and other parts of the country.
